Swiss fintech firm Avaloq has appointed Juerg Hunziker as its new group CEO, replacing Francisco Fernandez.
Hunziker, who has been serving as the firm’s deputy group CEO and group CMO since 2016, will take up the new responsibility on 1 January 2018. In the new role, his focus areas will be to expand the firm’s global operations and support the integration of new businesses.
Meanwhile, Fernandez will now focus on his group chairman role and mainly oversee innovation, strategy and acquisitions.
“Today, Avaloq is stronger than ever. Juerg and myself are a well attuned team, and with him as the Group CEO, we have found the perfect setup to drive Avaloq’s growth. Juerg knows how to consequently execute a strategy. He is a very strong leader, a pragmatic entrepreneur and a true industry expert. I will continue to dedicate all my energy to the acceleration of Avaloq’s growth, success and driving innovation,” Fernandez said.
