Foreign exchange services provider Argentex has entered the world of cricket in a partnership with the Professional Cricketers’ Assocation (PCA), the representative body for current and past first-class cricketers in England.
The partnership joins existing relationships Argentex shares with the Rugby Players’ Association and International Sports Management.
The needs of top professional cricketers have evolved considerably in recent years thanks to the lucrative contracts on offer in franchise T20 leagues around the world, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Australian Big Bash (BBL).
The relationship will enable professional cricketers to make use of Argentex’s private client services when exchanging currencies, which includes advice on the conversion of foreign earnings, sponsorship deals and prize money.
One such player is fast bowler England and Sussex fast bowler Jofra Archer who has played in the IPL, BBL, the Bangladesh Premier League and the Pakistan Super League.
“Since my first overseas contract, Argentex have helped me to move foreign currency around the world,” Archer says.

By GlobalData“The global nature of tournament cricket means that that as a player you need support and assistance around the clock.
“Having the expertise of Argentex means that I’m free to concentrate on my cricket, whilst they work in the background to ensure that my foreign currency earnings are managed in the most effective and timely manner.”
Harry Adams, group co-CEO of Argentex, states: “Members of the PCA and current players are still adjusting to some of the more lucrative aspects of the sport.
“They can trust that Argentex understand the unique FX requirements of professional sportspeople who are performing on the global stage, having worked with sports management firms for many years.”
The summer of 2019 promises to be a momentous one for English cricket, playing host to both the Cricket World Cup and an Ashes series.
Adams adds: “This summer, we want the England team to focus on their performance on the pitch, rather than the performance of the pound.”
