Aquila Capital, an independent alternative asset manager, has appointed Dorothee Goerz as senior fund manager.
Based at Aquila Capital’s office in London, Goerz will be responsible for overseeing the launch of a new Aquila Capital value and event-driven long/short equity strategy later this year, for which she will act as the lead fund manager.
Goerz has more than 12 years of experience in value and event-driven investing, with a particular focus on European mid/large cap stocks. Most recently, she served two years as portfolio manager at Aremus Partners, a hedge fund advisory group, where she was responsible for managing a European focused strategy, as well as risk management and idea generation.
Prior to this, Goerz was portfolio manager for the Pan-European long/short equity investment portfolio at Lombard Odier, where she consistently achieved positive and uncorrelated risk-adjusted returns using a research-based approach. Previously, Goerz worked with York Capital Management and Farallon Capital. She began her career within the M&A and corporate finance division of Merrill Lynch.
Roman Rosslenbroich, CEO of Aquila Capital, said: "We consistently seek to identify and bring onboard alternative investment managers whose strategies offer significant potential to deliver sustainable absolute returns.
