Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has named Kevin Corbally as its new chief risk officer, replacing Nigel Williams who will retire to pursue a career as a non-executive director.
Corbally will take up the new responsibility on 19 March 2018 and will report to the bank’s CEO Shayne Elliott.
He currently serves as group general manager for internal audit at ANZ. Before that he held senior institutional banking and credit management positions at the firm.
Based in Melbourne, Corbally will manage the bank’s risk strategies and processes in his new capacity. He will also join the group executive committee.
Prior to joining ANZ in 2009, Corbally served as the managing director and head of corporate and commercial banking at Citigroup Australia and New Zealand.
“Kevin’s experience in international credit and capital management combined with his track-record leading our internal audit function makes him the ideal executive to continue the evolution of our risk function and to build on the strong, mutually respectful relationships with our regulators,” Elliott stated.
