AMP Capital has made several changes to its leadership team in a bid to drive its growth in key asset classes and regions.
As part of the reshuffle effective 27 March 2017, Craig Keary, currently director of Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed as the firm’s new director for Asia Pacific.
In addition to his existing responsibilities for Australia and New Zealand, Keary will now also head the firm’s Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo businesses. He will relocate to Asia from Sydney in the coming months for the new role.
At the same time, Anthony Fasso, currently director for Asia and global head of portfolio strategy, will return to Australia from Hong Kong after spending 23 years in the region. However, he would retain his portfolio strategy responsibilities and remain on the Melbourne-based AMP Capital leadership team.
Simon Warner, currently head of global fixed income in Sydney, and David Allen, currently global head of equities based in London, have now been named as global CIO of their respective asset classes. Both of them will join the firm’s leadership team and will report to CEO Adam Tindall.
Meanwhile, Mark Beardow, CIO of global equities and fixed income, will depart from the firm.

By GlobalData“AMP Capital is at an exciting phase of its growth towards becoming a pre-eminent global fund manager and these changes will help us reach that goal. Asia is a critical market for AMP Capital. By creating an Asia Pacific region, we are better integrating our operations across Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and Asia more broadly. I’m excited at the prospect of greater sharing of ideas and knowledge between the teams and clients will also benefit from these deeper links,” Tindall said.
