Zurich-based wealth technology provider Additiv has hired Bert-Jan van Essen as its new managing director in Asia, replacing Thomas Achhorner.
In the new role, Essen will spearhead sales, product and delivery managers in Singapore and Vietnam.
The digital wealth firm is said to have tripled its employee strength in the region in the last one year.
Essen previously worked as the APAC CIO of private banking at Credit Suisse and also founded Dragon Wealth.
He also had a stint at Privé Technologies, where he was the CTO.
He will take on the new responsibility on 1 April 2019.

Previously, Achhorner is said to have played an integral role in setting up the firm’s development centre in Vietnam.
Commenting on Essen’s appointment, additiv founder and CEO Michael Stemmle said: “His experience in wealth management, digital finance and Asia, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, will be a great addition to our team.
“Bert-Jan’s focus will be to further tailor our products to the Asian markets and drive additiv’s growth in the region.”
