PBI has drawn on WealthInsight’s research to analyse a specific industry which plays a major part in driving high net worth wealth creation. This month, PBI looked at hotels, restaurants and leisure in the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, Australia and Singapore.
The leisure industry is a crucial, yet often overlooked, sector of many economies.
What the several billion dollar leisure industry can provide is multi-faceted and varied. It focuses on individuals with leisure time and disposable income, two things which many people have, but in wildly different amounts.
This makes it crucial to decide which level of wealth one intends to attract when creating a company in this sector.
Another important aspect is availability. The industry must constantly have their product, whether it is accommodation or food, it must be readily available for the customer. Otherwise, it ruins the entire aspect of leisure. To aid this, many HNWIs invest in not only one section. They rather have a variety of fields so they can all collaborate and make the customer experience enjoyable and, crucially, an experience they would consider having again.
Despite the financial crisis, the industry remained solid. Many have also stated that it can lead to boosts to many economies, especially the United Kingdom, after the crisis.
