June 2021 has seen an increase of 11.21% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 13.28% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 58.8% in June 2021, a 1.08% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.81% in June 2021, marking an 115.63% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.52% in June 2021, a 30% drop from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 36.93% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s banking and payments industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Citigroup posted 63 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an flat growth over the previous month, followed by Banco Santander with 61 jobs and an 110.34% growth. JPMorgan Chase with 49 IT jobs and Banco de Credito e Inversiones with 46 jobs, recorded a 36.11% growth and a 15% increase, respectively, while Willis Towers Watson recorded a 175% an increase with 22 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s banking and payments industry
Peru commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 16.52% share in June 2021, a 57.14% rise over May 2021. Brazil featured next with a 13.52% share, down 40.57% over the previous month. Jamaica recorded a 13.3% share, a growth of 113.79% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.45%, down by 6.44% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with a 12.23% share, a growth of 111.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 12.02% share, up 7.69% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 10.3%, recording a month-on-month growth of 54.84%.
