UK-based company HSBC’s IT hiring declined 2.7% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.1% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 25.77% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 0.8% down over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops HSBC IT hiring in July 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by HSBC, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 79.04% in July 2021, and a 21.92% drop over June 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 13.41% in July 2021, and registered a 14.71% decline. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 4.47% in July 2021, a 61.11% rise from June 2021.

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 91.37% share, which marked a 20.19% drop over the previous month.
North America stood next with 4.62%, registering a 100% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 3.85% share and a 3.85% drop over June 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.15% and a month-on-month flat growth.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 54.85% share in July 2021, a 23.28% decline over June 2021. China featured next with a 30.82% share, down 11.89% over the previous month.Hong Kong recorded a 4.78% share, decline of 34.04% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead HSBC IT hiring activity in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.56%, down by 18.8% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.96% share, a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.85% share, up 66.67% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.62%, recording a month-on-month increase of 41.67%.
