There were 37,076 jobs posted in period 28 February 2021 to 6 March 2021 according to the GlobalData jobs analytics tool. This represents a 20.7% increase from the previous weeks total of 30,719.
Across the fortnight, job postings have grown by over 50%, building on a steady upwards trend across the whole of 2021 so far. This can be expected to continue as vaccination programmes worldwide are rolled out. Indeed, job creation and rising employment is the cornerstone of most national recovery plans.
As a leading global industry, any changes in the coming months will likely be reflected in the figures seen across the banking sector.
Once again, Banamex recorded the highest number of jobs posted this week with 6881 positions, followed this time by JP Morgan with 2062. In third was Citi with 1529 whilst Wells Fargo maintained its place at fourth with 905 postings.
Boasting a consistent hiring record, JP Morgan was recently named as ESG Financing House of the Year by International Financing Review (IFR).
Within the ESG Financing category, the award acknowledges JP Morgan’s accomplishments in 2020, including the underwriting of more ESG risk and bonds than any other bank; innovating with new product developments; and using its global investment banking capabilities to help transition high-emitting companies.

The revelation follows a recent publication from JP Morgan which warned traditional financial institutions of being left behind regarding digital finance.
Theme of the week was User Experience, with 8314 positions falling under that heading. This was followed by 6407 positions within Big Data, 2837 in Cloud Services, and 1997 in Fintech. Despite the growing interest in Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain only constituted 245 of new job postings across the period.
Overall, the highest number of jobs posted were in North America with 18,437. Asia Pacific was second with 9589, followed by Europe with 7427, South & Central America with 826 and the Middle East & Africa with 796.
Globally, most jobs were junior level with 15,198 postings. This was followed by 11,360 mid-level positions, 7536 at entry level and 2982 senior positions.
