There were 32,652 jobs posted in the period from 4 April 2021 to 10 April 2021 according to the GlobalData job analytics tool. This represents an increase of 23% from the previous weeks total of 26,537 jobs.
JP Morgan was back in first place with 1579 jobs posted, followed by Citi with 1529, Banamex with 1377 and Wells Fargo with 1044.
In a recent letter to shareholders, JP Morgan chief executive, Jamie Dimon, discussed the long-term implications of Brexit on the continuation of company operations in London. He explained: “We may reach a tipping point many years out when it may make sense to move all functions that service Europe out of the United Kingdom and into continental Europe.
Highlighting the importance of a strategic and comprehensive strategy, Dimon continued: “London still has the opportunity to adapt and reinvent itself, particularly as the digital landscape continues to revolutionize financial services.”
Citi, in second place, also hit the headlines following the announcement of a new Citi Global Wealth Management Team. Notably, the internal memo from Jim O’Donnell, head of Citi Global Wealth, revealed that Ida Liu, head of the Private Bank for North America, would become the new global head of Private Banking.
According to O’Donnell, this organisational structure reflects the firms strategic focus on core markets and providing the full spectrum of leading wealth products and services across all client segments.

The announcement follows Citi’s recent decision to merge its two wealth management units, Citi Private Bank and Citi Personal Wealth Management, into Citi Global Wealth.
Overall, the highest number of jobs posted was in North America with 16,566. Asia Pacific was in second with 8069, followed closely by with 6555. South & Central America posted 745 positions and Middle East & Africa posted the fewest with 716.
Globally most jobs were junior level with 16,325 postings. This was followed by 7706 mid-level roles, 6766 at entry-level and 1855 senior positions.
