The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 0.56% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.74% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 1.2% over the last three-month average share.

Top five banking and payments companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.62% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia banking and payments industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Macquarie Group posted 105 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 77.97% over the previous month, followed by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group with 95 jobs and a 37.91% drop. Commonwealth Bank of Australia with 72 IT jobs and Citigroup with 37 jobs, recorded a 17.24% drop and a 1750% increase, respectively, while Dai-ichi Life Holdings recorded a 29.17% an increase with 31 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.86%, down by 3.16% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.26% share, a growth of 88.52% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.7% share, up 110.53% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.18%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 550%.
