July 2021 has seen an increase of 1.83% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 21.86% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 1.64% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 75.92% in July 2021, a 4.44% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 10.66% in July 2021, marking a 10% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 6.27% in July 2021, an 8.3% drop from June 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 10.51% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s banking and payments industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Affiliated Managers Group posted 1,128 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 4.41% over the previous month, followed by JPMorgan Chase with 966 jobs and a 17.23% growth. Citigroup with 795 IT jobs and HSBC with 593 jobs, recorded a 13.3% decline and a 20.19% drop, respectively, while Wells Fargo recorded a 42.52% decline with 365 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s banking and payments industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 68.03% share in July 2021, an 8.6% decline over June 2021. Australia featured next with a 7.85% share, up 26.71% over the previous month. China recorded a 6.2% share, a drop of 9.36% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.55%, down by 3.87% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.93% share, a decline of 11.43% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.18% share, up 2.68% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.34%, recording a month-on-month decline of 1.02%.
