Bank of Singapore (BOS), the private banking arm of OCBC, has reportedly appointed Vivienne Chia as its global head of investment advisory solutions.

Chia will takeover her role with immediate effect and will report to BOS global head of products, Lim Guan, The Business Times reported.

As head of investment advisory solutions, Chia will focus on meeting the needs of ultra-high and high-networth individuals in BOS’s core markets through the development of the bank’s investment advisory solutions across all asset classes in the capital markets.

She will also be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bank’s trading rooms in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai International Financial Centre.

Chia, who has over 20 years of investment products advisory and management experience, joins BOS from UBS Investment Bank in Singapore.

She most recently served as head of structured products origination and product management Asia Pacific at the firm.

Guan was quoted as saying: “Through her extensive career, Vivienne has gained a unique perspective in developing investment solutions across both investment banking and wealth management platforms to meet the needs and objectives of a full spectrum of clients.

“She also brings with her an astute sense of judgment in overcoming cultural, regulatory and risk challenges to facilitate favourable business outcomes.”

Chia succeeds Fidelis Oruche, who was global head of investment advisory solutions at the bank since 2013.

The bank has appointed Oruche to the newly created role of head of alternative investments and managed solutions.

In June this year, BOS named ex-UBS executive Paul Chua as its global head of Wealth Planning, succeeding Tariq Salem.
