PGIM Investments has appointed Jessica Jones as managing director, head of Asia, to lead the expansion of its global intermediary business into the region.

In the newly created role, Jones will also focus on building out the company’s Hong Kong and Singapore teams for sales and distribution efforts in Asia.

She will be based in Hong Kong and directly report to PGIM Investments International head Kimberly LaPointe.

Commenting on the appointment, LaPointe said: “Building out our Asia-based team is a strategic priority as we look to deliver the strength of PGIM’s global investment platform to clients with local market expertise and a relevant product set.”

Jones joins PGIM Investments from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where she was serving as the managing director and head of the retail client business Asia ex-Japan.

During her 17-year association with the firm, she held several leadership positions across the Europe and Asia region.

Jones said: “I have been impressed by PGIM’s commitment to Asia and dedication to building the right local infrastructure while bringing relevant products to Asian investors where we are seeing increased demand.”

PGIM Investments is part of PGIM, the $1.5trn investment management business of US-based life insurer Prudential Financial.

Last month, PGIM agreed to acquire Montana Capital Partners (MCP) to bolster its alternatives offering. MCP manages $3bn in assets and has an investor base across Europe, Asia, and the US.
