Dutch wealth manager Van Lanschot Kempen has completed its previously announced acquisition of a majority stake in Belgian peer Mercier Vanderlinden.
The deal closed after the regulators green lighted the transaction.
In April, Van Lanschot Kempen agreed to purchase a 70% stake in Mercier Vanderlinden, which manages around €3.8 billion in client assets.
The Dutch firm will now focus on raising its stake in Mercier Vanderlinden to 100% gradually.
However, both the companies will continue to operate independently in Belgium working together in different areas.
Together, the two wealth managers had €9.3bn in client assets as at 30 June 2021.
