Kleinwort Hambros has appointed Derek Hammond as its new commercial director, subject to regulatory approval.
Hammond will replace the current commercial director, Paul Kearney, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
In the role, Hammond will be responsible for growing the business across the UK, Channel Islands and Gibraltar.
He joins from Societe Generale London, where he had been a member of the senior management team for the past three years. He was UK head of culture and conduct and oversaw the deployment of a new client-centric culture and conduct programme.
Mouhammed Choukeir, Chief Executive Officer at Kleinwort Hambros, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Derek to Kleinwort Hambros. His extensive industry knowledge and commercial acumen will be instrumental to help us shape the ambitions of the bank. At the same time, I would like to thank Paul for his significant contribution during his time with us. I wish him all the best for the future. ”
Hammond added: “The environment in which our sector is operating and how we are engaging with clients is completely different to this time last year. Navigating this new environment presents many opportunities, and I am encouraged to see the ambitions are set high at Kleinwort Hambros in delivering an outstanding service to our clients.”
