Swiss banking group Credit Suisse has appointed Puneet Matta as the new head of its wealth management business in India.
Matta will move from Singapore to assume the new responsibility. He will now operate out of Mumbai.
In the new role, he will report to Indian sub-continent market group head Balakrishnan Kunnambath as well as India CEO Mickey Doshi.
Kunnambath noted: “Since launching our wealth management platform in India in 2008, our team and assets have grown from strength to strength through our unique onshore-offshore model. Clients in India are increasingly looking for global investment opportunities and our set-up is well-positioned to capture this booming demand.”
Matta most recently served as the head of EAM Asia and Key Clients for South Asia at Union Bancaire Privee (UBP).
He served in multiple senior roles at UBP. These include the NRI and ISC segments and the external asset managers (EAM) business.
