Global investment management firm Pimco has appointed an experienced client executive from Wellington Investment Management as head of South Asia client management and its Singapore office.

Theresa Tan has been appointed as Pimco’s executive vice president, head of South Asia Client Management and head of the company’s Singapore office.

In her role, Tan will lead Pimco’s institutional business in Singapore and broader client engagement across South Asia.

Tan will engage with clients in Brunei, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

She will report to Michael Thompson, the company’s head of Asia ex-Japan client management based in Hong Kong.

Pimco head of client management for APAC ex-Japan Adrian Stewart said: “Theresa Tan joins PIMCO with extensive industry and regional experience, and an excellent track record built over her 20 plus year career in the finance industry, making her a tremendous addition for the continued growth of our South Asia institutional business.”

Prior to joining Pimco, Tan served as head of Wellington Investment Management’s global relationship group for South East Asia, based in Singapore.

Tan also worked with UBS in Singapore and held several key positions in its private bank, securities, and global asset management businesses.
