Vontobel Wealth Management has appointed Christian Rose as the new head of its Hamburg branch, replacing Volker Schwarz who has been at the helm for eight years.
Rose was handed the new responsibility on 1 October 2019.
Schwarz will now focus on catering to the firm’s wealth management customers.
Growth at Vontobel’s German unit is said to be mainly driven by wealth management. The firm expanded its Munich and Hamburg advisory teams recently to support growth.
Vontobel intends to further strengthen the Hamburg team under Rose’s leadership.
Rose joins from M. M. Warburg & Co in Hamburg, where he led the Northern German wealth management team.
He previously also worked at Hamburger Sparkasse, and as the deputy head of the Northern German branch in Hamburg at Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie.
Bank Vontobel Europe head of wealth management Germany and member of the board Thomas Fischer said: “With Christian U. Rose as the new head of our Northern German wealth management team, we are underlining our commitment to continued future growth.
“Hamburg is not only one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but also the city of merchants and entrepreneurs, a good basis for an internationally active Swiss wealth management specialist with strong entrepreneurial roots.”
