Credit Suisse has appointed Richard Gibb as the new CEO for its Australia unit, replacing John Knox who has held the role since 2015.
Gibb will head investment banking and capital markets, private banking, markets and financing in Australia.
Gibb joins from Deutsche Bank where he worked for a decade, latterly as its head of corporate finance for Asia-Pacific.
In his financial career of over three decades, he also served at Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, and Westpac.
Credit Suisse CEO for Asia-Pacific Helman Sitohang said: “I look forward to having a strong talent of Richard’s calibre join our Asia Pacific leadership team and continue to build on the success of our Australia business.”

A couple of days ago, Credit Suisse expanded its team in Spain with the appointments of private bankers Paloma Gómez de la Higuera, Jaime Beruete Concostrina, Patricia Fitzgerald, and Carlos Núñez Alfaro.
Earlier this month, the Swiss bank hired five UBS bankers for its UK team as well as Philipp Wehle as the new head of its international wealth management unit.
