
RBC Wealth Management has named Dave Thomas as the head of RBC Wealth Management – International.
Based in London, Thomas will now be tasked with spearheading RBC Wealth Management operations in the UK and the Channel Islands.
Thomas currently serves as the chief of RBC Capital Markets Europe, a role he will retain in addition to his new responsibility.
He will report to RBC Wealth Management and Insurance group head Doug Guzman and RBC Capital Markets COO Troy Maxwell.
Thomas’ stint at RBC started in 1992.
He has seats on the Global Capital Markets and Wealth Management and Insurance operating committees.
Besides, he chairs the operating committees of Capital Markets Europe and WM-I.
He is also executive director of RBC Europe and chairs RBC Global Asset Management (UK).
Referring to Thomas, Guzman stated: “He has been with RBC for more than 27 years and brings significant experience, expertise and commitment to the Wealth Management business.
“Through his leadership and understanding of RBC’s strategy and business goals we expect to take advantage of cross-business opportunities, bringing all of our strengths to our clients, as One RBC.”
Thomas will be assisted by David Bailey, who will serve as the COO of RBC Wealth Management – International.
Bailey, who has been working at RBC since 18 years, most recently served as the senior director of finance at RBC Wealth Management – International.
Operating out of Jersey, he will now be in charge of business strategy.
