Syz Asset Management, the institutional asset management unit of SYZ Group, has hired William Nott from M&G Securities to serve as its new CEO.

Nott succeeds Katia Coudray, who resigned this May to pursue new opportunities. Coudray was at the helm for three years.

At M&G Securities, Nott served as the CEO and chairman. During his tenure, the firm’s assets are said to have increased from £11.7bn to £80.1bn.

His financial career of 35 years also includes a stint as the president of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA).

Syz Group CEO Eric Syz said: “The SYZ Group is immensely pleased to have a proven leader like William Nott join the organisation.

“His track record in business development, asset management, corporate governance and strategic leadership make him a great match for the SYZ Asset Management position and a fantastic addition to the Group.”

Nott will assume the new responsibility on 7 January 2019, subject to regulatory nod.

Besides, he will become a key shareholder of SYZ Asset Management and join the group executive committee.

“Eric Syz has been a pioneer in his field and I am very excited to be working with him leading the next phase of delivering excellent investment outcomes for our clients,” Nott stated.
