BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Rakesh Vengayil as deputy CEO for Asia Pacific. Additionally, he will also take over the role of CEO Hong Kong at the firm, replacing Tino Moorrees.

In his new role, Vengayil will oversee strategic projects and the company’s day-to-day business activities in the region. He will report to company’s Hong Kong-based CEO for Asia Pacific, Ligia Torres.

Vengayil joined BNP Paribas Group in India in 1998 and promoted as vice president and head of asset management operations at BNP Paribas Mutual Fund India in 2004.

He has also held senior executive roles in BNP Paribas AM’s India, Hong Kong and London offices.
