First Names Group, a provider of independent trust, fund, real estate and corporate services, has appointed Stuart Dowding as managing director for Hong Kong.

In the new role, he will be responsible for running the Hong Kong office and will work alongside the company’s Singapore managing director Karen O’Hanlon to drive growth in the region.

He was originally based in the company’s Guernsey office, where he took care of a private client portfolio and held responsibility for business development in the jurisdiction.

Dowding has nearly 25 years of experience in the fiduciary industry and relocated to Hong Kong in February 2017 to head up the senior team and drive growth in the region.

Prior to joining First Names, Dowding served as an associate director at Mercator Trust, which was acquired by the company in April 2014.
