Swiss banking giant Credit Suisse has named Christian Berchem as the new CEO of its UK private banking operations, replacing Philip Harris who will now assume the role of senior client advisor within the UK private bank.
Berchem will take up the new role on 7 June 2017, subject to regulatory approval, and will report to international wealth management (IWM) Europe head, Claudio de Sanctis.
As CEO of Credit Suisse (UK), Berchem will be responsible for driving the platform’s growth and building on its scale as a key hub for private banking within the IWM unit.
Berchem most recently served as the head of the private bank for London at Barclays Wealth. He previously also worked at JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley as well as KPMG.
