Julius Baer has named Stefano Spurio as its new head of intermediaries for Western Switzerland, Monaco and the Middle East.
Spurio will assume the new role on 1 February 2017, and report to regional head of Switzerland Gian Rossi. He will also join the management committee for the Switzerland region.
Spurio, who joined the Swiss private bank in 2005, currently heads investment advisory for Geneva, Lugano, Monaco and the UK.
He previously held several senior roles in investment advisory for private banking and external asset managers for the French-speaking part of Switzerland at Julius Baer. He also established the advisory offering in Monaco and assumed charge of the Dubai office.
“We are confident that with his investment expertise and management skills, Stefano will positively contribute to the future development of the Intermediaries segment, a key business area and a significant revenue contributor for the Bank,” Rossi said.
