Swedish banking group Nordea has named Thorben Sander as its new head of private banking, replacing Snorre Storset.
Sander, whose appointment is effective 1 April 2016, will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s five private banking units in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Luxembourg with approximately 1,300 employees.
Sander will continue to serve his current role as head of international private banking and CEO of Nordea Bank S.A. Luxembourg until a replacement is found.
Sander has held several management roles within investments and savings at Nordea for more than 20 years.
Storset assumed the role as new head of wealth management in Nordea on 1 February 2016.
Storset said: "Thorben Sander has an outstanding track record within Nordea, and he has most recently designed and implemented a new strategy for International Private Banking."

Nordea Private Banking now has EUR90bn in assets under management and serves about 115,000 customers with 900 private bankers located at 80 branches.
