French asset manager La Française has strengthened its presence in Asia by opening a new office in Seoul, South Korea.
The firm has also hired Shawna Yang as investor relations director for Asia. She will be based in Seoul and report to La Française’s international development director, Philippe Lecomte.
Yang joined La Française from commercial property and real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield, where she worked as head of the capital markets division, helping Korean investors in cross-border investments as well as foreign investors investing in the Korean real estate market.
Prior to that, she worked as a real estate fund manager at Mirae Asset Global Investment where she managed direct real estate investment transactions in Korea, India, and Hong Kong.
She was also a part of the fundraising / investor relations team dealing with both Korean and foreign investors.
Lecomte said: "Shawna Yang’s appointment strengthens the La Française operating platform in Asia, underlining the importance of Korea as a source of outward bound capital and where the group already has established client relationships."
