Prudential Financial has appointed Jacques Chappuis as the new president and CEO of its global investment management business, PGIM.

On 1 May 2025, Chappuis will replace David Hunt, who is set to retire but will remain as chairman until 31 July 2025 to assist with the transition.

Jacques Chappuis, who has nearly three decades of experience in the investment management sector, will report to Prudential Financial international businesses and global investment management head Andrew Sullivan.

Sullivan said: “Under David’s leadership, PGIM has grown to become one of the premier global asset managers in the world, well known for its public and private markets investment expertise, with assets under management growing to $1.4tn from $619bn since David joined the firm in 2011.

“David has overseen PGIM’s impressive expansion in the U.K., Europe and Japan, as well as the integration of new capabilities such as private equity secondaries and the expansion of expertise in existing asset classes, including private credit.”

Chappuis served as the co-head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), where he was instrumental in the acquisition of Eaton Vance.
