In 2008, Diaz joined Credit Suisse and later Merrill Lynch in 2013, where he specialised in structured notes, alternative investments, and bespoke client portfolios.

Carreño said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Esteban’s expertise to the Insigneo team.

“I am confident that Insigneo will serve as a strong strategic partner to his clients, helping him to deepen and expand these relationships for sustained long-term success. We look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration with Esteban in the years ahead.”

Last year, Insigneo acquired Latin American consumer brokerage and advisory accounts of PNC Investments, PNC Managed Account Solutions, and PNC Bank.

The deal is intended to expand its Mexican client base as well as its geographic footprint.
