In Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank has launched its inaugural variable capital company (VCC). The bank is able to provide a number of funds to provide its clients with exclusive access to distinctive investment strategies due to the establishment of Standard Chartered Funds VCC (SC Fund), a new business entity.
The bank will collaborate with and appoint the industry’s notable global fund managers as sub-investment managers. The relationship leverages synergies between the industry’s fund managers and the bank’s worldwide asset class specialists to provide hard-to-access custom-curated investment strategies solely to the bank’s clients.
Moreover, this strategy supports and coincides with the bank’s open architectural framework, which selects effective solutions from a variety of fund managers and asset classes.
The bank’s team of investment specialists, which consists of fund pickers and investment managers spread across several regions and offering a wealth of experience in manager selection, forms the basis of the SC Fund process.
Furthermore, the team uses a rigorous selection process for managers, identifying techniques that are intended to provide sustained outperformance over time through a thorough due diligence approach.
A group of investment specialists from the bank will select the qualified sub-investment managers for the SC Fund series of funds, bringing their extensive experience to the table. These managers will be in charge of making investment choices and overseeing the portfolio on a daily basis.
