Deutsche Bank has named Sylvie Matherat as new global head of government & regulatory affairs, effective 1 August 2014.
Based in Frankfurt, Matherat will report to Stephan Leithner, member of the management board, whose responsibilities include government & regulatory affairs.
In her new role, Matherat will oversee an expanded government & regulatory affairs function with responsibility for regulatory adherence and implementation, regulatory relationship management, and regulatory advocacy.
Additionally, Matherat will become a member of the Group Executive Committee (GEC), which conducts advisory, coordinating, performance-monitoring and decision-preparing functions for the management board.
Matherat has joined Deutsche Bank from Banque de France, where she served roles including deputy director general of operations and director for financial stability. She has also worked as head of the structured finance department at Paribas Capital Markets and as an auditor for retail and investment banking at Societe Generale SA.
At the same time, Fabrizio Campelli will also join the lender’s group executive committee as head of group strategy.
